Corning BioCoat Poly-Lysine Cellware is a valuable addition to the Corning family of products. The Corning BioCoat Poly-Lysine cellware products consist of several useful laboratory and cell culture tools including multiwell and assay plates, culture dishes, flasks, coverslips, and CultureSlides. Each product is coated with a uniform application of Poly-Lysine, either Poly-D-Lysine (PDL) or Poly-L-Lysine (PLL). Both are synthetic compounds that enhance cell adhesion and protein absorption by alerting surface changes on the culture substrate. Besides enhancing cell adhesion and protein absorption, the compounds also acts a neurite growth supporter, improving cell life cycles and survival of central nervous systems in primary cells. Because of the excellent growth potential and cell performance, these cultures are suitable for culturing primary neurons, glial cells, neuroblastomas, and transfected cell lines. Additional related applications include: Attachment and spreading of a variety of cell types; Cell differentiation and neurite outgrowth; Attachment of fastidious transfected cell lines; Support survival of primary neurons in culture; Serum-free or reduced serum culture. PDL and PLL compounds are synthetic molecules and thus do not stimulate biological activity in the cells cultured on them. They also do not produce impurities carried by natural polymers. All Cellware will remain stable for at least six months from date of shipment when stored at 4° to 30°C under dry conditions; coverslips and culture will remain stable at least three months when stored at 2° to 8°C. Poly-D-Lysine cell plates include a 384-well black/clear and white/clear plate that have been formulated to enhance their performance in a number of specific assays that rely on superior cell attachment. These bulk packaging (see ordering table) on all 96-well and 384-well plates make for high volume use.
